Sound the Warning

America, look around you. You claim happiness and prosperity, but what do you have, really? A shallow front, masking despair. What do we do as a country? We are a country of drinkers, gamblers, adulterers, fornicators, drug abusers, liars, deceivers, proud and stuck up. But I will sound the warning now. This great country will humble itself, or be humbled before a Mighty God on Judgement Day. Our sins will be recounted. Every single one will be brought forward. For the Christian, there is nothing to fear, because Christ has washed away our sins, and our name is cleared. But what about the unbeliever? What about the drinkers, gamblers, fornicators, drug abusers, thieves, liars, and deceivers? What about the proud and stuck up? The murderers, haters, or willfully ignorant? At the end of your life, you will have to answer for every wrong you ever did, and without Christ, you will be damned to eternal torment in Hell. Hell has no exits. Once you enter into her fiery depths, you will never again be free of pain, torment, and excruciating agony. But Christ Jesus has died to save you from such an ending! He had no sin. He had never committed a wrong in his entire life. Yet He freely chose to be beaten and scourged, and eventually brutally murdered by Roman soldiers until you could no longer even recognize him as a human man. Then he was lifted up onto a rough wooden cross. Thick iron nails were forcibly pounded through his hands and ankles. it was not the neat little, tiny-nails-on-a-smooth-wooden-cross that is commonly hung on church walls. It was a filthy, gory attack on Him.  His muscles were shredded. His skin destroyed. He had heavy, two inch thorns pounded into his skull. And for what? One simple answer. You. It was for you. Because He never sinned, He was the only sacrifice that God, as a Righteous God, could accept. Every lash, every drop of blood that was spilt, for you. Jesus didn't come to tell you everything you were doing was wrong and you were evil. You already knew, somewhere deep down inside. God gave you your conscience for that. He came to show you what was good and right, and save you from your own wickedness. He freely chose to accept your punishment. To be tortured, beaten near to death, then hung on a rough wooden cross, to suffer in excruciating pain for three hours, and to ultimately die. Then where did Christ go? He went to Hell. Jesus Christ, Son of God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, went to Hell. He was physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally tormented, for what? For you. He was paying for every sin you would ever commit. Every wrong you have done in the past, and every one that you will commit in the future. He thought of you by name. He knew it was for you He was doing this. And to Him you were so much more than worth it.

However, the story doesn't end there. At the end of three agonizing days in Hell, Christ had finished. He paid for your mistake with His Blood and Torment. And then Christ conquered Death and resurrected. He had conquered Hell! He lives today to help and to guide His People from the Right Hand of God. And he still Saves today. All that is required is that you confess your sins, admit that you were wrong, and turn from your sins, repenting from all wrongdoing, and asking Christ to help you turn from their wicked clutches.

But back to America. What is she up to? She is still wrapped in her dirty pleasures. Her pleasures are superficial. Americans aren't truly happy, because there is only one thing that can satisfy her longings, and that is Christ. But, instead of choosing to accept God's Free Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ, we choose to commit all kinds of sin, sexual sin (lust, premarital sex, homosexuality), murder (of innocents through abortion, hate, bloodshed), substance abuse (tobacco, alcohol, drugs), and moral decay (pride, hate, deceit, ego-maniacal, narcissism, apathy, and so much more). We choose to allow Christ to have been brutally tortured and murdered in vain, because we can't be bothered with Him. But all we have to do is pray and repent of our sins, and believe on Christ to forgive us, and we can be saved. Will you? Judgement Day is coming. It is time to sound the warning.
